The Great Plains Health Care Foundation in North Platte, Neb., received a $100,000 gift from Medica Insurance Co. to support an orthopedic care expansion project.
The project will expand Great Plains Health Orthopaedics to 29,300 square feet. The clinic will grow from 14 to 32 exam rooms and add a C-arm imaging room, a second X-ray room, a hand-care area and a private scheduling room, according to a Dec. 22 news release.
The expanded clinic will also feature a dedicated athletic trainer space and direct access to home care equipment services.
The expansion is expected to support future growth and improve clinic efficiency. Medica also donated $10,000 to Hope Esperanza, a nonprofit working to reduce language barriers in healthcare settings.
Construction is slated for completion in early 2028.
