Nebraska hospital adds 2nd orthopedic surgeon

McCook, Neb.-based Community Hospital has added its second orthopedic surgeon, Douglas Tice, MD.

Dr. Tice spent two years at Shepherd Air Force Base as chief orthopedic surgeon before joining the Charleston Area Medical Center as vice-chairman of orthopedic trauma.

Dr. Tice comes to Community Hospital having held roles as associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, W.Va., and director of the orthopedic hospitalist program at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Conn., according to a Jan. 23 news release from Community Hospital. 

In his role at Community, Dr. Tice will provide outreach to patients in Nebraska and Kansas, offer general orthopedic and trauma support services and perform specialty procedures for carpal tunnel and shoulder repairs. 

Dr. Tice will begin treating patients as the hospital’s second full-time orthopedic surgeon on Jan. 24, the release said.
