Rapid City, S.D.-based Monument Health’s Orthopedic & Specialty Hospital has added a minimally invasive procedure for patients with chronic tendon pain.

Primary care sports medicine physician Hollan Harper, DO, is using Tenex’s second-generation technology to treat conditions such as tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, plantar fasciitis and rotator cuff issues. The procedure uses local anesthesia, requires no stitches and is performed in an outpatient setting. Most patients resume normal activity within six to 12 weeks, according to a Nov. 11 system news release.

The treatment enables access to hard-to-reach areas such as the shoulder and hip without major surgery.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
