Michigan Medicine to establish sports medicine, orthopedic institute

Michigan Medicine is creating a sports medicine, orthopedic and physical medicine institute at a new facility in Ann Arbor, Mich. 

The Nathan and Catherine Forbes Sports Medicine Institute will include clinical, surgical and performance space, advanced imaging equipment and a rehabilitation center, according to a Sept. 18 news release from Michigan Health. 

The new institute will be at the center of Michigan Medicine’s upcoming statewide sports medicine hub. 

The construction of the institute is pending the Board of Regent’s approval, the release said.
