Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute welcomes new surgeon

Orthopedic surgeon Frantz Lerebours, MD, joined Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, according to a Dec. 17 news release from Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida.

He specializes in orthopedic trauma and fracture surgeries and has a background in sports medicine, the release said. He has expertise in treating fractured bones and soft tissue surrounding.

Dr. Lerebours is a first-generation Hatian-American and has done medical mission trips to Haiti, the release said. He received his medical degree at Washington D.C.-based Howard University, completed his residency at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.

Previously, Dr. Lerebours was an attending physician at Los Angeles-based Cedars Sinai Medical Center, the release said. He provided care for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Kings.
