Memorial Healthcare System opens joint replacement center — 5 takeaways

Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System opened the Memorial Joint Replacement Center in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

Here are five takeaways:

 

1. The center is located at Memorial Hospital West campus.

 

2. The center aims to provide comprehensive treatments for a number of joint diseases and conditions including avascular necrosis, gouty arthritis, hip arthritis, hip impingement and hip labral tear.

 

3. The center will also provide a variety of diagnostic tests and imaging services such as arthrograms, bone densitometry tests and bone scans.

 

4. It will also serve as an exclusive, dedicated nursing unit for patients needing total hip replacements and partial and total knee replacements.

 

5. Carl Eierle, MD, and Daniel Sheldon, MD, will lead the multi-disciplinary team at the center.
