Dr. Martin previously worked with the team in 2019 at the Women’s World Cup, when the U.S. took home the championship.
Dr. Martin will focus on disease, injury and illness prevention for the team. Knee and ACL injuries are especially prevalent in professional soccer, and she told the news station that, ACL injuries are eight times more likely to happen to female athletes.
Dr. Martin specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, hip, and elbow at Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics.
