McGinley’s first-to-market intelligent orthopedic drill enables surgeons to accurately and precisely perform orthopedic operations. The real-time depth measurement technology prevents drill bits from interfering with soft tissues, organs and critical structures in the body.

The device also eliminates the need for manual measurements, which saves surgeons time and decreases wasted screws.

Vizient awarded the contract based on recommendations from hospital experts who serve on its board. Each year, board members at Vizient select new products and technologies to partner with due to their potential to change the clinical space.

Vizient represents academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute healthcare providers and more than $130 billion in annual purchasing volume, according to a March 7 press release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
