Blueprint Mixed Reality for shoulder replacement allows surgeons to preplan cases with 3D imaging and operate with more precision, according to a news release. Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo, MD, PhD, performed the first cases at Mayo Clinic.

The system combines the software with the Microsoft HoloLens 2 headset to let surgeons track the position and orientation of surgical instruments.

George Athwal, MD, debuted Blueprint Mixed Reality for shoulder replacements in Canada at St. Joseph’s Health Care London.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
