Major League Soccer star has knee surgery at UPMC

Josef Martinez, star striker of the Major League Soccer team Atlanta United, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, MLS Soccer reported April 8.

He had his right knee examined at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center April 4 after expressing discomfort, MLS Soccer had reported earlier. He is expected to be out for six to eight weeks for recovery.

Mr. Martinez previously had ACL surgery on the same knee in 2020, the report said.
