Lurie Children’s taps head of orthopedic surgery sports medicine division

Chicago-based Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital has tapped Erik King, MD, as division head of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.

Dr. King will retain his current role as professor of orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and will hold the Martha Washington Foundation Professorship in pediatric orthopedics at Lurie Children’s, according to a March 25 press release. 

He has been with the orthopaedic surgery division at Lurie Children’s since 1999, serving as interim division head since 2021. He specializes in the care and management of congenital and traumatic problems of the hand and upper extremity, scoliosis, spine deformity and pediatric orthopedic trauma care.
