The program is the first of its kind in the Chicagoland area and offers an interdisciplinary approach to sports medicine for women and girls, according to a May 16 press release.

The program will focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries and conditions. It will bring together a team of specialists, including experts in orthopedics, primary care, sports medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, urogynecology, podiatry, sports psychology and sports nutrition.

Mary Mulcahey, MD, division director of sports medicine in the orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation department at Loyola Medicine, will help to lead the initiative.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
