Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Rich helped launch the practice in 1988 and dedicated his career to building it. He left the practice in 2011.
2. Throughout his career, Dr. Rich made an effort to care for local athletes. He was the team physician for Natchitoches, La.-based Northwestern State University and developed a program called “physical day” to provide physicals for high school athletes at 44 area schools.
3. Mid State re-named the event “Dr. Chris Rich Physical Day” to commemorate his career and celebrate the impact he has had on the community.
4. Dr. Rich was also the inaugural recipient of an award honoring former Mid State partners.
