Kerlan-Jobe’s Dr. Bert Mandelbaum to perform knee surgery on soccer star

Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute orthopedic surgeon Bert Mandelbaum, MD, will perform knee surgery on Felipe Mora, a forward for Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers, the team said Aug. 1.

Dr. Mandelbaum is performing a cartilage restoration surgery on Mr. Mora’s left knee, the team said. The Chilean soccer star previously underwent arthroscopic debridement surgery on the same knee Feb. 18.

He will miss the rest of the season, with an expected return in about nine months, the team said.
