Dr. Tezel replaces Peter Shen, PhD, who retired, according to a Nov. 7 company news release shared with Becker’s. In his role, he will be responsible for end-to-end elements of reserach and development for the company.

He previously worked as vice president of R&D at Ethicon.

Johnson & Johnson MedTech includes orthopedic technology. The company named Kurt Van den Bosch as CFO in May.
