HCA Florida reopens spine, orthopedic unit for the first time since Hurricane Ian

HCA (Port Charlotte) Florida Fawcett Hospital reopened its orthopedic and spine unit for the first time since being hit by Hurricane Ian at the end of September, according to an Oct. 17 report from the Herald-Tribune

The hospital also reopened its operating rooms, cardiac catheterization labs, interventional radiology unit and endoscopy unit on Oct. 17. 

Its emergency services, lab and imaging services reopened Oct. 10. 

"We are moving forward with the phased reopening of the hospital after Hurricane Ian and I want to thank our caregivers for their outstanding efforts over the last several weeks," Michael Ehrat, HCA Florida Fawcett's CEO, told the Herald-Tribune.
