Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee, Ariz., plans to spend $10 million to expand its orthopedic surgical department, AZCentral reported Aug. 30.
A lack of space at the hospital limits the services it can offer, according to Robert Seamon, CEO at Copper Queen Community Hospital. The expansion will allow the hospital to add more surgeons and expand the services it already offers.
"In orthopedics right now, we don't do any total joint replacements: no hip replacements, knee replacements, etc.," Mr. Seamon told the publication. "We don't have the space and facilities for it, but with this new expansion we will be able to offer those services."
The surgical department expansion, which will also include an adjoining endoscopy unit, is expected to be completed over the next two and a half years, according to the report.
