Orthopedic devicemakers respond to Ukraine-Russia conflict

Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began in February, companies have taken a stand to support relief efforts and condemn the violence.

Orthopedic devicemaker Conformis suspended all distribution and business operations in Russia, the company said March 2. Conformis previously entered a distribution agreement in Russia, but those plans were halted.

"While we were looking forward to working with our agents and surgeons in Russia, we believe it is important that our business aligns with our values," Conformis CEO Mark Augusti said in a news release.

Another devicemaker, Orthofix, donated $25,000 to support Ukraine relief efforts. The company made the donation to the International Medical Corps and will match employee donations to UNICEF up to $25,000 to help children affected by the crisis.
