20 best hospitals for orthopedics: US News

U.S. News & World Report on July 27 posted its 2021-22 best hospitals for orthopedics rankings, with Hospital for Special Surgery earning the top spot for the 12th consecutive year.

For the ranking, U.S. News analyzed data from 1,660 hospitals that see challenging patients requiring spine surgery, limb, joint and other musculoskeletal and connective tissue and orthopedic care.

Here are the top 20 hospitals for orthopedics:

1. Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City)

2. Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.)

3. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles)

4. NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital (New York City)

5. Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopedic Hospital (Santa Monica, Calif.)

6. Rush University Medical Center (Chicago)

7. Cleveland Clinic

8. Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston)

9. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell (New York City)

10. Rothman Orthopaedics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (Philadelphia)

11. Scripps La Jolla (Calif.) Hospitals

12. Houston Methodist Hospital

13. Stanford (Calif.) Health Care-Stanford Hospital
