A 91,000-square-foot orthopedic surgery center at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville has reached its structural completion.
The Advanced Orthopaedic Institute is a joint venture between UT Medical Center, University Orthopedic Surgeons and OrthoTennessee.
Once open, the ASC is expected to employ 150 people and see 225 to 275 patients a day. It will include a large clinical space for OrthoTennesse and a designated research space for UT Medical Center, according to a June 17 news release.
The surgery center broke ground in December and is expected to open in spring 2022.
