Orthopedic construction boom: 12 practice locations recently opened, announced

Construction is picking up momentum in orthopedics. Here are 12 orthopedic practices that opened or announced new locations in the past month:

1. Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center completed a $68 million expansion.

2. Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its first location in Massachusetts.

3. Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute cut the ribbon on a new location in Hamilton, N.J.

4. The Spine Institute of Louisiana broke ground on a $20 million multidisciplinary spine hospital in Bossier City, La.

5. Providence-based Ortho Rhode Island opened a $33 million flagship facility in Warwick.

6. Twin Cities Orthopedics plans to open a clinic in Brooklyn Park, Minn.

7. Cheektowaga, N.Y.-based UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine plans to open two more locations in the state.

8. Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay broke ground on a 37,000-square-foot medical complex with an ASC in Fish Hawk, Fla. 

9. Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System, SensusOne and Brighton, Mich.-based Advanced Orthopedic Specialists opened an $8 million ASC in Grass Lake.

10. The Orthopaedic Associates of Wausau (Wis.) and Wausau Surgery Center broke ground.

11. East Stroudsburg, Pa.-based Mountain Valley Orthopedics plans to open its fourth office in May.

12. Beaumont (Texas) Bone and Joint Institute is partnering with Christus Family Medicine to open a facility in Port Arthur.
