Here are 10 orthopedic surgeons to know:

1. James Chow, MD. an orthopedic surgeon in Scottsdale, Ariz. Dr. Chow helped design Smith+Nephew's Cori robotic system. He debuted it at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus in January this year.

2. Christopher Cook, MD. University of Rochester Medical Center (Rochester, N.Y.). Dr. Cook is chief of the pediatric orthopedic division. He was named to professorship in February 2021.

3. Christopher Dewing, MD. Northwest Specialty Hospital (Post Falls, Idaho). Dr. Dewing is a sports medicine surgeon and was recently named medical director of the hospital's new service, Northwest Integrated Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. 

4. Craig Greene, MD. Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center (Baton Rouge, La.). Dr. Greene is a total joint surgeon and was named chief of staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in February 2021. He also practices with Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic. 

5. Mark Hanna, MD. Emory St. Joseph's Hospital (Sandy Springs, Ga.). Dr. Hanna is a total joint specialist. He received Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics' 12th annual Garrett Award in February 2021. 

6. Brett Miller, MD. Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center (St. Joseph, Mo.). Dr. Miller is a sports medicine specialist. He recently designed an app, Hurt!, to help match patients with orthopedic specialists through a smartphone. 

7. Stephen Murphy, MD. North Atlantic Surgical Suites (Salem, N.H.). Dr. Murphy is founder of Surgical Planning Associates and performed the first total hip replacement with the medical device company's HipInsight augmented reality system.

8. Daryl Osbahr, MD. Rothman Orthopaedic Institute (Davenport, Fla.). Dr. Osbahr is managing director and chief of orthopedic surgery at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute in Florida. He was named co-CMO of the USA Baseball Medical Oversight Commission.

9. Jay Patel, MD. Hoag Orthopedic Institute (Irvine, Calif.). Dr. Patel is a total joint surgeon. He was recently named Hoag's chief strategy officer.

10. Jonathan Vigdorchik, MD. Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City). Dr. Vigdorchik was reportedly the first surgeon in the U.S. to complete an augmented reality-assisted knee replacement in December.
