6 surgeons stepping into leadership roles — Drs. Martin Roche, David Gazzaniga & more

Over the past two months, Becker's has reported on six surgeons appointed to leadership roles:

Neurosurgeon Hilarie Tomasiewicz, MD, PhD, was named the first site chief of neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Queens (N.Y.) in January. 

Martin Roche, MD, was appointed director of hip and knee arthroplasty at Hospital for Special Surgery Florida in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Irvine, Calif.-based Hoag Orthopedic Institute appointed David Gazzaniga, MD, division chief of sports medicine.

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital named R. Kumar Kadiyala, MD, PhD, chief of orthopedic surgery.

Charles Bondurant, MD, a neurosurgeon with Mid-Missouri Neurosurgery in Columbia, was elected to a newly created board that oversees operations at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Neurosurgeon Abdallah Farrukh, MD, was reelected to Lancaster, Calif.-based Antelope Valley Hospital's board of directors, which he has served on since 2000.
