From a surgeon receiving an accolade from a professional society to another about to open a clinic in Virginia, here are the latest orthopedists making the news:

Patient Preferred Physicians and Practitioners, a society of highly referred providers, named  Stanislav Avshalumov, DO, "Physician of the Year" for the state of New York in 2021.

Riley Williams III, MD, operated on the right knee of Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Abrazo Scottsdale Campus' first robotic knee replacement with Smith+Nephew's Cori system was completed by James Chow, MD.

Sachin Pawar, MD, surgically repaired the nose of Milwaukee Bucks forward Torrey Craig.

Rajeev Pandarinath, MD, will begin practicing at a Precision Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic that will open in Warrenton, Va., in mid-January.
