The Ultimate Fighting Championship extended its partnership with New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, according to a Dec. 10 announcement.

Under the terms of the multiyear renewal, HSS sports medicine physicians will serve as orthopedic consultants alongside UFC's medical team.

HSS will also continue assisting UFC in the recruiting and hiring of physical therapists for the HSS Sports Rehabilitation Center at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.

Daphne Scott, MD, will serve as UFC's head consulting orthopedic physician, and Robert Marx, MD, will serve as head consulting orthopedic surgeon. They will be on call during UFC events for orthopedic consultation.

HSS will remain designated as the "Official Hospital of UFC" and "Official Orthopedic Consultants of UFC." The musculoskeletal-focused organization will gain branding opportunities at select UFC events, digital and social advertising, and a new content series, along with participation in UFC's corporate social responsibility programs.
