19 orthopedic surgeons making headlines: Drs. Michael Bednar, James Andrews & more

From the incoming officers at the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery to some of the most influential orthopedic specialists on Twitter, here are the latest surgeons making the news:

Michael Bednar, MD, was elected president of ABOS, which announced seven other surgeons as officers for 2020-21.

Seven surgeons were included in a list of the most influential orthopedic specialists on Twitter.  

James Andrews, MD, repaired the torn anterior cruciate ligament in the left knee of Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery's Michael Ast, MD, completed the first knee surgeries with OrthAlign's Lantern surgical assistant.

Nicholas Grimm, DO, joined Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network.

Joel Buchalter, MD, was appointed director of joint replacement surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital's Orthopedic and Spine Institute in Mount Kisco, N.Y.
