Five orthopedic surgeons making the news this week:

Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill., recruited Richard Morgan, MD, as medical director of its orthopedics program.

Thomas DiStefano, MD, outlined why McLeod Orthopaedics Cheraw (S.C.) eliminated its waiting room and the impact it has had on the practice.

Cynthia Kelly, MD, performed a complex surgery to remove a rare bone cancer in a patient's leg.

Daphne, Ala.-based Baldwin Bone & Joint added William Park, MD, to its surgical staff.

John Furia, MD, is opening a Dollar Store in Montandon, Pa. The surgeon also owns a restaurant in Lewisbuth, Pa.
