Dr. Brian Cole takes helm at Arthroscopy Association of North America

Sports medicine surgeon Brian Cole, MD, was installed as president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America for the 2020-21 term, according to a May 18 announcement.

Four highlights:

1. As AANA president, Dr. Cole will work with the board of directors to facilitate research, educational initiatives and practice management services for the organization's nearly 6,000 members.

2. Dr. Cole is a managing partner at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, chair of the surgery department at Rush Oak Park (Ill.) Hospital, head team physician for the Chicago Bulls and team physician for the Chicago White Sox.

3. His other titles include associate chairman of the orthopedics department at Chicago's Rush University Medical Center, where he is director of the cartilage restoration center and head of the orthopedic master's training program.

4. Additionally, Dr. Cole has published 1,000-plus articles and 10 textbooks on orthopedics and regenerative medicine. He co-hosts a radio broadcast and serves as physician director of the annual Chicago Sports Summit.
