Here are five orthopedic surgeons making the news this week:

Neal ElAttrache, MD, joined the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute's board of directors.

The University of California San Francisco appointed Aenor Sawyer, MD, as medical director for a project that will test the entire town of Bolinas, Calif., for COVID-19.

Jason Scalise, MD, of Phoenix-based The CORE Institute and vice chairman of its management company HOPCo, discussed his practice's considerations as it prepares for elective surgeries to return.

Exclusively focusing on urgent medical needs during the COVID-19 pandemic could spawn a "secondary healthcare crisis," according to Benjamin Domb, MD.

Elvis Francois, MD, a chief orthopedic surgery resident at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, launched an EP, with all proceeds being donated to healthcare workers on the front line of the pandemic.
