15 orthopedic surgeons on the move in March

Here are 15 orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians that joined new practices or received new appointments in March:

William Hazel, MD, was appointed as senior deputy executive director of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.

Gil Ortega, MD, was named chair of the Orthopaedic Co-Management company, in partnership with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth.

The Louisiana Orthopaedic Association appointed Michael Leddy III, MD, as president of the organization.

Shawn Price, MD, opened Fortis Orthopaedic & Sarcoma Group in Louisville, Ky.

Alex Jahangir, MD, director of orthopedic trauma at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, was appointed lead the city's Metro Coronavirus Task Force.

Edward Vanek, DO, was appointed as a medical adviser for the city of Atwater, Calif.

NFL player-turned-orthopedic surgeon Braden Jones, MD, was hired by Southwest Health System in Cortez, Colo.

Elizabethtown, Ky.-based Hardin Memorial Health is building an orthopedic clinic, which will house Sanjiv Mehta, MD.

360 Orthopedics named Jeffrey Silverstein, MD, chief of surgery at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.).

Four orthopedic surgeons — David Brcka, MD, Virginia Jones, MD, Susan Jordan, MD, and Domenic Scalamogna, MD — are providing care at a new Newnan, Ga., facility opened by OrthoAtlanta and Atlanta-based Piedmont Orthopedics.
