The Joint Commission awarded Reading Hospital its Gold Seal of Approval for advanced total hip and knee replacement.

1. West Reading, Pa.-based Reading Hospital — where surgeons perform more than 1,300 knee and hip replacements each year — is now a five-time recipient of the Gold Seal of Approval for total joints.
2. The accreditation is effective through November 2021.
3. The Joint Commission reviewers evaluated Reading Hospital's infection rates, fall rates, patient education, length of stay, early ambulation and pain management metrics.
