Dr. Ted Sousa joins Spokane Shriners Hospital

Orthopedic

Ted Sousa, MD, whose passion for orthopedics and gait analysis stems from his childhood love of horses, is joining Shriners Hospital for Children-Spokane (Wash.).

Dr. Sousa earned his medical degree from Seattle-based University of Washington School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. He completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and later completed a fellowship with an emphasis in cerebral palsy at Melbourne, Australia-based Royale Children's Hospital.

Dr. Sousa said growing up with horses greatly influenced his career. Watching how the horses developed and learned to walk sparked his interest in gait analysis, which he applies to his treatment of patients with cerebral palsy and gait abnormalities.
