Here are three orthopedic surgeons making the news.

Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute's John Uribe, MD, spoke to Becker's Spine Review about the biggest challenges facing surgeons today and trends he expects to see in total joint replacement and preservation.

Orthopedic surgeon Andrew Hodge, MD, joined Paris (Ill.) Clinic of Horizon Health. Dr. Hodge is a fellowship-trained arthritis surgeon specializing in the hip and knee.

Orthopedic surgeon at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Shawn O'Driscoll, MD, designed a new system for assessing patient-reported outcomes. The system requires the patient, physicians and a medical staff member to complete a form, selecting a numerical rating and a more in-depth category rating for the patient's outcome compared to pre-surgery.
