Here are seven orthopedic surgeons making the news.

The American Medical Association elected board-certified orthopedic surgeon Michael Suk, MD, to its Board of Trustees. Dr. Suk has been part of the AMA for nearly 30 years.

Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics added Thomas Barrett, MD, to its team of orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Barrett is an adult reconstructive surgeon, specializing in first-time and revision replacements of the hip and knee, including partial knee replacements and arthroscopy of the knee for torn cartilage.

Orthopedic trauma surgeon Manny Sethi, MD, was endorsed by the Political Action Committee of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons for the U.S. Senate.

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Jean Basta, MD, joined Glendive (Mont.) Medical Center. Dr. Basta focuses on total joint replacements, fracture care and sports medicine with a special interest in hand, foot and ankle surgery.

Daniel Robertson, MD, Robert Blake, MD, and Darren Herzog, MD, will be providing orthopedic services at Lincoln City, Ore.-based Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital after it partnered with Synergy Surgicalists to launch a new orthopedic surgery program.
