Dr. Stephen Mitros retires — 3 key points

Stephen Mitros, MD, retired from his practice, South Bend, Ind.-based Mitros Orthopaedics in December, and had his last patient follow-up this past month, according to the South Bend Tribune.

The key details to know:

1. Before retirement, Dr. Mitros had been in practice as an orthopedic surgeon for 43 years.

2. Dr. Mitros was the team physician for the Marian High School football team, and in retirement will serve as the team physician for the South Bend Cubs.

3. Dr. Mitros earned his medical degree from Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan.
