3 surgeons appointed to Current Concepts in Joint Replacement executive committee: 5 things to know

After acquiring the Current Concepts in Joint Replacement course, The Hip Society and The Knee Society announced a new executive committee to lead the CCJR program.

The executive committee includes:

  • Daniel J. Berry, MD, of Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, as senior director
  • Adolph V. Lombardi, Jr., MD, of New Albany, Ohio-based Joint Implant Surgeons, as deputy director
  • William J. Maloney III, MD, Stanford (Calif.) University, as deputy director 

Five things to know:

1. They will assume their roles effective immediately. The committee will work in partnership with CCJR founder Dr. Seth Greenwald and his Current Concept Institute staff over the next 16 months to ensure a full leadership transition by July 1, 2020.

2. Drs. Berry, Lombardi and Maloney have all presented at CCJR meetings. Drs. Berry and Maloney are past presidents of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The Hip Society.

3. Dr. Berry also served as president of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and chair of the board of the American Joint Replacement Registry.

4. Dr. Lombardi is a past president of The Hip Society, The Knee Society, as well as a co-founder and current president of Operation Walk USA.

5. The newly appointed directors will serve a multi-year term.
