NYU Langone Health appoints Dr. John Kennedy to lead foot & ankle division — 5 highlights

New York City-based NYU Langone Health named John G. Kennedy, MD, the orthopedic surgery department's foot and ankle division chief.

What you should know:

1. In addition, Dr. Kennedy will serve as director at NYU Langone Health's new Foot and Ankle Center, where he will treat patients and perform surgeries. He will also perform surgeries at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in Manhattan.

2. A foot and ankle specialist, he is an orthopedic surgery professor at NYU School of Medicine.

3. Before joining NYU Langone Jan. 2, Dr. Kennedy was an assistant orthopedic surgery professor at Weill Cornell Medical School and an assistant attending physician at Hospital for Special Surgery for 17 years. Both are based in New York City.

4. Dr. Kennedy established New York City's first subspecialty foot and ankle sports injury clinic in 2002 and serves as the International Society on Cartilage Repair of the Ankle's co-president.

5. An award-winning researcher, Dr. Kennedy has contributed to more than 200 publications and over 500 presentations internationally.
