Leo A. Calafi, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists in Walnut Creek, Calif.
With expertise in orthopedic trauma surgery, Dr. Calafi previously served as an assistant orthopedic traumatology professor at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
Dr. Calfi's research has been published in a variety of medical journals, including the American Journal of Orthopaedics and Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
After earning his medical degree from Chicago-based Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Calafi completed his residency at UC Davis School of Medicine. He underwent international trauma fellowship training at Hannover Medical School in Germany and completed orthopedic trauma fellowship training at Seattle-based University of Washington.
