Megan A. Swanson, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Sentara Martha Jefferson Orthopedic Services in Charlottesville, Va.
Dr. Swanson's specialties include knee surgery as well as total hip and knee replacement surgery.
She is a co-chair of the Sentara Orthopedics High Performance Design Team and a physician champion for the Sentara physician advisory groups for trauma and lower extremity implants and sports and upper extremity trauma.
A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Swanson is also a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
After earning her medical degree from Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Dr. Swanson completed her residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She underwent adult reconstruction surgery fellowship training at Boston-based New England Baptist Hospital.
