Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Arup Bhadra of Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine

Arup K. Bhadra, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Northeast Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Airmont, N.Y.

Dr. Bhadra is also affiliated with Suffern, N.Y.-based Good Samaritan Hospital, where he serves as director of its joint replacement program.

His specialties include knee and hip arthroscopy as well as primary and revision joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder.

Dr. Bhadra is an assistant orthopedic surgery professor at New York Medical College in Valhalla.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Bhadra is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and Arthroscopy Association of North America, among other professional organizations.

After earning his medical degree from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal, Dr. Bhadra completed his residency at London, U.K.-based Homerton University Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, U.K. He then underwent fellowship training in adult joint reconstruction and traumatology at the University of Louisville (Ky.) and sports medicine fellowship training at Indianapolis-based Indiana University.
