Pines Health orthopedic surgeon earns hand surgery recertification: 3 details

Caribou, Maine-based Pines Health Services orthopedic surgeon Robert Bassett, MD, received hand surgery subspecialty recertification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, according to The County.

Here are three details:

1. Dr. Bassett's specialties include sports medicine, trauma and conditions of the hand and wrist.

2. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand and Arthroscopy Association of North America, among other professional organizations.

3. After earning his medical degree from and completing his residency at Boston-based Harvard Medical School, Dr. Bassett underwent orthopedic surgery fellowship training at Columbia Orthopedics at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
