Peter A. Smith, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Shriners Hospital for Children — Chicago.

Dr. Smith serves as director of the osteogenesis imperfecta clinic at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago, as well as co-medical director of the hospital's motion analysis center.

His additional specialties include clubfoot, arthrogryposis and skeletal dysplasia.

In 2018, Chicago Magazine named Dr. Smith a Top Doc in orthopedics.

Dr. Smith is president of the Silver Service Children's Foundation in Chicago. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Academy of Pediatrics and Chicago Medical Society, among other professional organizations.

After earning his medical degree from New York City-based New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Smith completed his residency at University of Chicago Medical School and underwent pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship training at Newington (Conn.) Children's Hospital.
