Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Thomas Graham of NYU Langone Health

Thomas J. Graham, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at NYU Langone Health in New York City.

With expertise in hand and wrist surgery, Dr. Langone serves as strategy and innovation director of orthopedic surgery as well as associate chief of hand surgery at NYU Langone Health.

Dr. Graham also specializes in post-trauma complex reconstruction surgery, complex elbow disorders and congenital hand ailments.

Having treated more than 1,000 professional athletes throughout the course of his career, Dr. Graham served as a team physician and hand surgery consultant for teams in the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA and PGA Tour.

Dr. Graham has conducted research on and developed numerous inventions and devices for bone and joint repair, for which he now holds more than 50 patents. He has also published more than 70 articles on hand and orthopedic surgery for publications such as the Journal of Hand Surgery and American Association for Hand Surgery's journal Hand.

He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand and Mid-America Orthopaedic Association.

After earning his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Graham completed his residency at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Medical Center and a hand surgery fellowship at Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis.
