Dr. Robert Korbyl appointed to Alberta Medical Association board: 3 notes

Robert Korbyl, MD, of Red Deer-based Central Alberta Orthopedics in Canada, joined Alberta Medical Association's board of directors as its first orthopedic surgeon in 18 years, Red Deer Advocate reports.

Here are three things to know:

1. Dr. Korbyl has expertise in primary and revision arthroplasty procedures, with a specialty in complex cases.

2. He serves as president of the Alberta Orthopaedic Society, and he is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Canadian Orthopaedic Association.

3. After earning his medical degree from and completing his residency at University of Alberta in Edmonton, Dr. Korbyl completed dual fellowship training in adult reconstruction and arthroplasty at Brigham and Women's Hospital with Harvard Medical School, both in Boston.
