Thomas J. Graham, MD, joined New York City-based NYU Langone Health's orthopedic surgery department as strategy and innovation director and associate chief of the hand surgery division.
Here's what you should know:
1. Dr. Graham assumed the roles Sept. 1, tasked with advancing techniques, technologies and orthopedic care delivery. He will move his clinical practice to NYU Langone's Hand Center.
2. Dr. Graham specializes in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, with expertise in complicated reconstruction after trauma, complex elbow disorders and congenital hand ailments.
3. Dr. Graham has treated thousands of professional athletes. He served as the hand surgery consultant, team physician or medical director for professional sports teams in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, PGA and LPGA.
4. Dr. Graham has served as the Cleveland Clinic's first Chief Innovation Officer and its vice chairman of orthopedic surgery; Baltimore-based Union Memorial Hospital's vice chairman of orthopedic surgery; and an associate professor of orthopedic and plastic surgery at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine.
5. Dr. Graham has authored more than 100 publications, books and book chapters. He holds more than 50 patents for medical devices and founded multiple medical device and artificial intelligence companies.
