Muthana Sartawi, MD, performed the first arthroplasty with Amplitude Surgical's Anatomic knee prosthesis in the U.S.

Here are four things to know:

1. Dr. Sartawi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Champaign, Ill.-based Christie Clinic's director of orthopedics and Urbana, Ill.-based OSF Heart of Mary Joint Care Center of Excellence's director.

2. Amplitude Surgical is a French company in the global lower-limb orthopedics surgical technology market.

3. Amplitude Surgical has fitted more than 50,000 Anatomic knee prostheses worldwide.

4. The company employs nearly 400 people, distributes its products in over 30 nations and recorded sales of $115.8 million as of June 30.
