Scott Trenhaile, MD, an orthopedic surgeon who practices at Rockford-based OrthoIllinois, designed undergarments for patients wary about being uncovered on the operating room table, Rrstar reported.

Here are three things to know:

1. The undergarments include a "modesty bra" for women, and "modesty brief" for men, women and children undergoing hip procedures, as well as surgeries on other lower extremities.

2. A nationwide rollout of the product is scheduled for Oct. 1.

3. The products will be sold directly to clinics and hospitals, not patients.
