Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Christopher Ahmad of Columbia Orthopedics

Christopher S. Ahmad, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at New York City-based Columbia Orthopedics.

Dr. Ahmad is an orthopedic surgery professor at Columbia University Medical Center and an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, both in New York City. 

A Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association member, Dr. Ahmad serves as the New York Yankees' and the New York City Football Club's head team physician.

He is a consultant for local gymnastics and swim teams, as well as the FC Westchester Soccer Academy's official medical provider.

In addition to writing more than 200 articles and 50 book chapters, Dr. Ahmad has edited the textbooks Minimally Invasive Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Injuries. He has presented over 250 lectures around the world.

Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York City. He completed an internship at New York City-based Columbia University, where he also underwent residency training. Dr. Ahmad completed a fellowship at the Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
