Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Catherine Robertson of UC San Diego Health

Catherine Robertson, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at UC San Diego Health.

Dr. Robertson was named UC San Diego Health's sports medicine chief in January. She specializes in shoulder, knee and hip injuries. 

Dr. Robertson also serves as the San Diego Padres' head team physician and the lead physician in UC San Diego Health's partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee. She was the San Diego Chargers' team physician before the team moved to Los Angeles.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, skiing and scuba diving.

Dr. Robertson earned her medical degree and completed residency training at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She underwent fellowship training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
