Wisconsin orthopedic, sports medicine physicians to open satellite clinic: 4 insights

A new Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists clinic will open June 4 in Marinette, Wis., ehextra.com reports.

Here are four things to know.

1. The 9,000-square-feet clinic features five exam rooms and will offer orthopedic care through its partner, Appleton, Wis.-based Advanced Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine.

2. Approximately 20 percent of Green Bay, Wis.-based OSMS patients come from Marinette or Michigan's upper peninsula, according to OSMS CEO Sandy Fragale.

3. The physician-owned orthopedic and rheumatology group has satellite clinics in several Wisconsin locations and Escanaba, Mich. The new Marinette clinic will be OSMS' first satellite clinic to be staffed every day.

4. The following physicians will practice at the new clinic:

  • Walker Flannery, MD, orthopedic surgeon
  • Joel Hein, MD, orthopedic surgeon
  • Gregory Kirwan, DO, orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon
  • Jason Klein, MD, orthopedic surgeon
  • Steven Schechinger, MD, orthopedic surgeon 
  • Ben Zellner, MD, orthopedic hand surgeon
